KB00102: M210/M211 Voltage Conversion

M211 Time System: Conversion from 110V to 230V Operation.


1) Isolate the M211 from the supply.

2) Remove the screws holding on the lid of the M211 and carefully lift off the lid. The lid will be connected to the main chassis via an earth lead. On the left hand side of the chassis is the power supply.

3) On the back most edge of the PSU PCB (looking from the front of the unit) is a white plastic plug with a series of wires fitted to it, gently pull this plug off the PCB.

4) A pair of links (with Molex crimp terminals at each end) are fitted between pins A and B, also C and D. Remove the two link from by using a very small slot head screwdriver and depressing the retaining tab on the side of the plug nearest the transformer, through a small access hole in the side of the plug

5) Refit one of the links between the second and third pins of the plug marked B and C on the PCB. Be sure that the small retaining tabs on the back of the new crimp pins are orientated towards the transformer. Ensure that the new link wires are pushed fully down so that the retaining tab clicks into place through the slots in the side of the plug. Gently pull on the new links once fitted to check they are firmly retained and will not slip out.

6) Refit the plug onto the PSU PCB.

7) Turn the M211 chassis round so the back panel is facing you. Remove the T2A fuse (anti surge), and replace it with a T1A fuse.

8) Using a sharp blade, remove the "T2A fuse" label and replace it with a "T1A Fuse" label.

9) Remove the "110v" label next to the mains input plug and replace it with a black "mains input 230V A.C." label.

10) Locate the white serial number label on the side of the chassis. Stick the white "230V 1A 50 Hz" label over the area of the serial number label where the supply details are written. (Trim label to size if necessary).

11) Screw the lid back on the M211 chassis.

12) The conversion is now complete.

M211 Time System: Conversion from 230V to 110V Operation.

  1. Isolate the M211 from the supply.
  2. Remove the screws holding on the lid of the M211 and carefully lift off the lid. The lid will be connected to the main chassis via an earth lead. On the left hand side of the chassis is the power supply.
  3. On the back most edge of the PSU PCB (looking from the front of the unit) is a white plastic plug with a series of wires fitted to it, gently pull this plug off the PCB. At one end of the plug a small white wire, looped between the second and third pins of the plug marked B and C on the PCB. This link is to be removed by using a very small slot head screwdriver. Depress the retaining tab on the side of the plug nearest the transformer, through a small access hole in the side of the plug.
  4. A new pair of links (with Molex crimp terminals at each end) are to be fitted between pins A and B, also C and D. Be sure that the small retaining tabs on the back of the new crimp pins are orientated towards the transformer. Ensure that the new link wires are pushed fully down so that the retaining tab clicks into place through the slots in the side of the plug. Gently pull on the new links once fitted to check they are firmly retained and will not slip out.
  5. Refit the plug onto the PSU PCB.
  6. Turn the M211 chassis round so the back panel is facing you. Remove the T1A fuse (anti surge), and replace it with a T2A fuse.
  7. Using a sharp blade, remove the "T1A fuse" label and replace it with a "T2A Fuse" label.
  8. Remove the "230v" label next to the mains input plug and replace it with a black "mains input 110V A.C." label.
  9. Locate the white serial number label on the side of the chassis. Stick the white "110V 1A 50 Hz" label over the area of the serial number label where the supply details are written. (Trim label to size if necessary).
  10. Screw the lid back on the M211 chassis.

The conversion is now complete.
